It’s finally happened – Jon and I adopted a dog.
I know, everyone thought we’d be on our own forever, and while we’re still content being DINKs, both of us had wanted a dog for awhile. Little Bronson had been on our radar since the summer. In fact, when I saw him posted on Save The Tails’ instagram back in May, I commented and tagged Jon, probably saying “JOOOOOON HE NEEEEEEDS US!“, and this continued for months.
And then over Thanksgiving I saw that Save the Tails had posted yet another #adoptBronson picture, and I showed him to my family. Jon and I were driving back to Virginia Sunday morning and would be home in time to make the adoption event… and from there it just sort of became this whirlwind of a week. We met Bronson and he was a little sweetie. He then came to our house for a home visit, and a week later, he was here to live with us!
He’s a year old, and had been housebroken and trained, so we got to skip the really insane puppy months. It’s been a week as of today, but I’m so in love with this little guy. He’s active and loves to run and play, which has been great for me because of my inclination to just be lazy 24/7. As I write this, he’s behind me in his bed (a Serta, because homie don’t play around) napping peacefully.
If you love dogs and don’t yet follow me on instagram, you may as well just go ahead and do that now because Mr. Bronson (see also: Mark Bronson; LeBronson James; Bronsonsaurus, etc.) will be making many appearances.
We stopped by the Old Lucketts Store this weekend and had Beryl take a few family photos of us. One: can you even handle this dog?! He’s the best! Two: the gals at the Lucketts store are unmatched in their ability to deck the halls to the max.
And finally, what’s a dog photo shoot without a great outtake? Behold:
