I have just one more 2016 recap post before I move on to regular content. I wanted to avoid the ‘look at my amazingly gorgeous posed photos and detail shots from the last year!‘ kind of post for my top ten eleven, because I feel like that doesn’t show the true spectrum of emotions that one goes through during a wedding or photo session. Instead I’ve decided to choose eleven moments or glimpses into weddings and sessions that are poignant, funny, or just stuck with me for whatever reason. They may not be my best images from a technical or artistic standpoint, but it’s less about me and more about what was happening at the time I took the image. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
Frankie can’t contain himself as he sees his bride, Mal, walk down the aisle with her father. Even after having a first look.
Ant’s groomsmen, like himself, all hail from England. They showed their UK pride with their choice of wedding day socks.
Courtney and Eli sneak a kiss at the Wine Kitchen in Frederick, MD.
Flower girls fall asleep amidst the pre-ceremony excitement.
Melissa has her dress buttoned by her mom before her wedding in St. Lucia.
Kjersten wipes away a tear as Brian cries during their first look.
Kristen experiences pure joy during her branding session by the ocean, her happy place.
Nicole and week-old baby Hollis bond as mother-son in his nursery.
One of the junior bridesmaids at Mary and Andrew’s UVA wedding forgot her dress shoes. Mom eventually caught wind of this and found her a pair of shoes to change into.
Big sister Amie looks on proudly as Kjersten catches the first glimpse of herself as a bride.
As the mother-son dance is announced, Frankie realizes his mother is nowhere to be found.
I've pulled together my favorite and most-used art supplies + tools to make the process easy for you!
I make whimsical art for color-lovers and California dreamers. I'm based in Virginia, outside of Washington, D.C. where there are most decidedly no palm trees in sight.
