I was having breakfast with my good friend Krysta the other day and we got to talking about bringing more of our personalities into our businesses. Stuff we do, stuff we love. You guys know I’m kinda quirky, I really dig knitting, and traveling is my favorite. But did you know I love me a good, peaty Islay Scotch whisky? Or that a French 75 is my go-to afternoon cocktail in the summertime? Right, of course not, because I don’t often post about my love for proper cocktails.
Although whisk(e)y is my favorite liquor, gin is my jam in the hot summer months. This weekend I’m keeping it simple with a French Gimlet. Much of the flavor comes from the gin (I’ve opted for Hendrick’s), and the St. Germain adds some sweetness with a touch of floral. Finish with fresh-squeezed lime juice and you’re ready to rock.
This is the first weekend in months where I haven’t been shooting or traveling for work and I am stoked. Gonna get my cocktail on tonight and kick back on the couch and watch Orange is the New Black. Wanna do the same? Follow the recipe below and make your own!
Ingredients
Pour all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice. Strain into a coupe glass (or if you’re lame like me, you’ll pour into an old jam jar because that’s all you have) and garnish with lime.
I've pulled together my favorite and most-used art supplies + tools to make the process easy for you!
I make whimsical art for color-lovers and California dreamers. I'm based in Virginia, outside of Washington, D.C. where there are most decidedly no palm trees in sight.
