Earlier this week, Beryl and I went to Rust Manor House to nail down details of our Blogtographie workshop to be held there on May 3rd. If you’re registered already, get excited: we have the freedom to roam the house for our hands-on photography time, so you’ll have the opportunity to photograph the home’s beautiful details in amazing natural light! After touring Rust Manor House, we made a quick stop at King Street Coffee in Leesburg to talk a bit more about the workshop.
If you’ve somehow missed the posts about Blogtographie, here’s the deal. We know there are so many creatives out there who rock at whatever it is that they do – baking, jewelry making, coffee roasting – but when you go to their blog or social media accounts, the photos are not showing off their craft to the fullest potential. People are naturally very visual, and when a blog or social media account has great photography associated with it, it keeps viewers there for longer. It’s usually the same story each time: you buy a dSLR thinking your photos are going to go from meh to amazing, only to keep it on auto mode and find that all you’ve ended up with is larger files and more megapixels.
WE CAN HELP YOU. You see those scary modes on your camera? Av, Tv, M? We’ll show you what those are and how to use them. What’s an aperture, and how does it affect the photo? What’s the benefit of this lens or that lens? All will be answered. If you’ve yet to register, click on over to our registration page for more information and the place to buy your ticket. Space is limited (that’s not just a marketing ploy – we’re keeping the group small and cozy for a reason!), so be sure to get on it while you can.
I've pulled together my favorite and most-used art supplies + tools to make the process easy for you!
I make whimsical art for color-lovers and California dreamers. I'm based in Virginia, outside of Washington, D.C. where there are most decidedly no palm trees in sight.
