Brand photography. I toss this phrase around a lot on my website and in my social media. What falls under this umbrella term, you ask? Here are ten examples – with visuals, of course – to help you better understand what the hell I’m referring to. #themoreyouknow Traditional Headshots: Formal What most people think of when […]
Fun fact: I don’t fangirl. Except when I met my favorite astronaut, Captain Jim Lovell. And probably if I ever met Tom Hanks or Ira Glass. But really, I don’t usually fangirl. If I did, however, I probably would have the first time I met Alison Glass (no relation to my boo Ira). She’s an incredibly […]
I think some of you already know that while I, Alicia, run most of the public sides of Love Knot Photo, my brother Ronnie is also a part of the business. He’s based in southern New Jersey (outside of Philadelphia), less than three hours from me in northern Virginia. We shoot weddings together, but we […]
We’re just about a week out from Thanksgiving, and while I’m still trying to embrace autumn and her crisp, golden glory, the holiday season is peeking around the corner with a crate full of garlands and baubles in tow. It’s an overcast day with very Kinfolk-y lighting, and from what I can tell, there are very few people strolling […]
That said, my bright-eyed dreams of being a California girl inspire my art from every angle. As a professional photographer I can't bring palm trees and warm sunsets to Virginia in January, but I can let those things play a role in my artwork.
I tend to favor a mix of pastel and bright colors reminiscent of southern California and the 1960s, wildflowers that might have been found in a hippie's flower crown, and lettering that has a little bit of flair to keep it whimsical.
