We’re just about a week out from Thanksgiving, and while I’m still trying to embrace autumn and her crisp, golden glory, the holiday season is peeking around the corner with a crate full of garlands and baubles in tow. Confidentially, I’ve already started listening to the Christmas station on Sirius XM as I cruise down the road with orange and brown leaves whisking over my windshield, tumbling behind my car in the dust.
Mid-November is an amalgam of the seasons: wood stove scent in the air and Christmas displays in downtown storefronts. Thanksgiving turkeys being purchased at the grocery store with Christmas music being piped in as you confusedly stroll the aisles. A home bedecked in shades of deep orange and cranberry red as a notepad with “Christmas shopping” scrawled on it sits nestled on the coffee table. Autumn, as lovely and perfect as you are, you’re just never going to last past Thanksgiving night in the minds of many Americans who have Christmas at the ready come next Friday morning. Myself included.
It was within this mixed-up season (aka Wednesday) that I met up with Julie Abrera of Beaumont House Design and Elizabeth Mock of Modern Mercantile to shoot promo images for our upcoming holiday wreath workshop. Yellow and orange leaves tumbled down the sidewalk as we replaced pumpkins with pinecones for the images of Modern Mercantile. It’s here, at this adorable Etsy-come-to-life store in downtown Berryville that we’ll gather on December 10th for a morning (and now afternoon!) of wreath-making, coffee drinking, and all-around merriment. Join us on December 10th! Enjoy these wreath-making images on your way to scrolling down for full details of the workshop.
Tickets are $50 per person, and our workshop is limited to only TEN people so sign up now, because tickets have already started selling! the first session has SOLD OUT in a matter of hours, so we’ve added an afternoon session! Everything you need to create your wreath is included in your ticket. You can sign up on Julie’s site here.
