Our final giveaway has arrived! You guys are going to love this one.
Nowadays, dSLR cameras are no longer for professional photographers only – it seems like everyone and their mother (literally) can be found toting theirs around, especially during this time of the year as couples and families pick pumpkins and get lost in corn mazes and want to document the fun.
Unfortunately, most of these people do not carry their expensive cameras in a dedicated camera bag. And I don’t blame them – have you seen the consumer camera bags available? They’re utilitarian and ugly, and they just scream ‘there’s a camera in here!‘
But seriously, going without a camera bag shouldn’t be an option. Have you ever dropped your camera when it’s been in a purse or tote bag and have that moment of “Oh sh!t…“. I have. And let me tell you, my North Face backpack may be great for traveling, but it is certainly not sufficiently padded for a camera. Marble floor in the Cancun airport: 1. Alicia’s 17-70mm lens: 0 (RIP).
Which is why I love my Jo Totes camera bags. They look like fashionable purses, so you can lug your camera around comfortably and stylishly. Padded on all sides, removable padded separators, and tons of pockets for memory cards and whatever else you may need for a day trip. I have the Rose bag in marigold and the Gracie bag in greige. The Rose bag is a little boxy to be an everyday bag for me (but is awesome when I am on a shoot), but I am able to carry the Gracie bag around to events in which I’d like to bring my camera, and it just looks like I’m one of those girls who carries a big purse.
When I decided to do this month-long giveaway series, I wanted to only work with companies whose products I use and love. When I reached out to Jo Totes, I was genuinely giddy to receive an email back from April herself saying that she’d love to participate!
And what good would a beautiful new camera bag be without a beautiful new camera strap to go with it? Sandy of Sassy Strap has generously donated a $15 gift certificate to her shop for our winner to pick out her favorite strap. My personal favorite is the plum linen and lace strap, which gets me tons of compliments all the time. As you know, I shoot weddings, and while I do have an extra padded so-called “professional” strap for my camera, I keep it on my backup camera and use my Sassy Strap for my main camera. It’s also fuzzy on the underside which keeps it comfy for hours of shooting.
The gifts: A $125 gift certificate to JoTotes.com to pick out any camera bag you fancy, as well as a $15 gift certificate toward any Sassy Strap.
