Amy and Anthony are one of those couples with a history. When I asked them how they met, their story went back as far as elementary school where they were in the same class and even stood by side in their class picture. They dated briefly years ago, and remained in contact over the years. Eventually they found their way back to each other and are now engaged and planning a fall wedding at Creek’s Edge Winery in Lovettsville. Their long history shows in their photos; these are two people who have known each other most of their lives. They are friends and soulmates, and I can’t wait to spend their wedding day with them this October.
Last weekend, they came down to Virginia for their engagement session. They opted to do the shoot at Fields of Flowers in Purcellville, a pick-your-own flower farm. But first, we made a coffee stop at LoCo Joe, one of my favorite coffee shops in which to work, and is also where I met Amy and Anthony for the first time a few months ago.
Once at Fields of Flowers, we meandered around the property and started with an old farm tractor. Then, we ventured back through the peony fields and took advantage of the dipping sun and lush green grass. Finally, we ended the session on a dirt road adjacent to a field of long grasses backed by the Blue Ridge Mountains and a hazy Virginia sunset.
I've pulled together my favorite and most-used art supplies + tools to make the process easy for you!
I make whimsical art for color-lovers and California dreamers. I'm based in Virginia, outside of Washington, D.C. where there are most decidedly no palm trees in sight.
