Vision board night!
Remember those late nights during sleepovers with your 6th grade girlfriends? You know the ones. They involved watching PG-13 movies (even though you weren’t supposed to), prank calling boys, playing MASH, and flipping through issues of YM to make collages for your locker. If you’re awesome like me (and by awesome, I mean a memento hoarder) you may even still have your collages from way back when. Chances are, your idea of the ideal life has changed since the days of LipSmackers and crushing on a teenaged Leonardo DiCaprio.
Vision boards are really the adult version of the collages we made as teenagers. The distinction is that a vision board is meant to consist of a realistic visualization of your dreams. (And let’s face it, marrying Leo and living in a mansion was not terribly realistic.) Your board becomes a constant reminder of the values and dreams you find important. The more you visualize your goals and desires, the more likely you are to actually achieve them.
I’m inviting a small group of women to join me at the Loudoun Photo Loft for an evening of dreaming, inspiring, and creating. You’ll start by filling out a worksheet to guide you to your vision. I’ll explain more about the purpose behind creating a vision board as you begin flipping through stacks of magazines. Toward the end of the workshop, I’ll talk about what steps we can take to help manifest our dreams into reality.
