For nearly a year, I’ve been doing bi-monthly photos for Finch Knitting + Sewing Studio’s subscription box service, Finch Box. I subscribed to Finch Box from the start and even though I know what’s in the boxes (because I’m shooting them a month earlier), I still look forward to getting mine in the mail. But […]
When Ellie Lees graduated from RISD with her degree in Jewelry and Metalsmithing, she began working at a custom jewelry shop, learning the trade for over ten years. Eventually she decided to go out on her own, and so LEL Jewelry was born. All of Ellie’s jewelry is made by her, using custom designs she […]
Earlier this year I had the joy of working with one of my favorite local establishments again. Petite Loulou Creperie + Bar À Vins in Purcellville, VA, is nearly a year old and has already become a hugely popular spot for all ages. Through a questionnaire at the start of our working relationship, my designer (Kristen Ashton of Still Pixels) gained so much information from […]

I haven’t exactly been all around the world (yet), however many of the spots I’ve visited make for great honeymoon destinations. It makes it a little awkward when I’m by myself or with a friend instead of my husband. […]
That said, my bright-eyed dreams of being a California girl inspire my art from every angle. As a professional photographer I can't bring palm trees and warm sunsets to Virginia in January, but I can let those things play a role in my artwork.
I tend to favor a mix of pastel and bright colors reminiscent of southern California and the 1960s, wildflowers that might have been found in a hippie's flower crown, and lettering that has a little bit of flair to keep it whimsical.
